Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SleepTonic ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"), published by MucoApps, handles your information. SleepTonic is a sleep and relaxation app that generates binaural beats, nature soundscapes, and ambient audio. This policy applies to the App on Apple App Store (iOS/iPadOS) and Google Play (Android), and is written to comply with the Apple App Store Review Guidelines, the Google Play Developer Program Policies (including the Data Safety and User Data policies), the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

SleepTonic has no sign-up, login, or account. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information to use the App.

1.2 Information stored on your device (not collected by us)

The following is created by you and stored locally on your device only. It is never transmitted to us or to any server we control:

• Your saved sound mixes and presets.
• App preferences and settings (e.g. volumes, selected sounds, theme, audio-engine options).
• Your chosen bedtime-reminder time, if you enable reminders.
• Your onboarding goal selection (e.g. "fall asleep", "focus"), used to tailor recommendations on your device.

1.3 Usage analytics (collected via a third-party service)

To understand how SleepTonic is used and to make it better, we use Google Firebase Analytics, a third-party analytics service provided by Google. It automatically collects anonymous usage information, such as:

• App interaction events (e.g. a session was started, a mix was saved, a setting was changed). Event data describes features, not you — it contains no names, emails, or account identifiers.
• General device and app information (device model, operating-system version, app version, language/region).
• A randomly generated app-instance identifier used to group events from the same installation. It is not tied to your identity and is reset if you reinstall the App.

We do not use analytics for advertising, do not access the advertising identifier (IDFA/AAID), and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. For details on how Google processes this data, see the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation and the Google Privacy Policy.

1.4 Information we do not collect

We do not collect or access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, precise or approximate location, calendar, files, browsing history, or device identifiers for advertising. SleepTonic contains no advertising SDKs.

2. Permissions

• Notifications (optional): used only to deliver the local "bedtime reminder" you schedule. These notifications are generated on your device; we do not send push notifications from a server. You can disable them anytime in the App or in your system settings.
• Audio playback / background audio: used so sounds can keep playing while the screen is locked or the app is in the background. No audio is recorded or transmitted.

SleepTonic does not currently request access to HealthKit, Health Connect, the microphone, camera, or location. If a future version offers optional health features, it will request your explicit permission first and this policy will be updated accordingly.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

If you purchase a SleepTonic Premium subscription, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own terms and privacy policies. We never receive or store your credit-card number or full payment details. We only receive a subscription status (active / not active) used to unlock premium features on your device. Aggregated, non-identifying sales information may be provided to us by Apple or Google.

4. How the App Uses Information

The on-device information described above is used solely to operate the features you use — for example, to play the mix you built, restore your saved presets, fire your bedtime reminder, and remember your preferences. The anonymous analytics described in Section 1.3 are used only to understand which features are helpful, find problems, and improve the App. None of your information is used for profiling or advertising, or sold to anyone.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. The only third parties involved are:

• Apple and Google — for app distribution and subscription billing, as described above.
• Google (Firebase Analytics) — which processes the anonymous usage statistics described in Section 1.3 on our behalf, as a service provider, to help us improve the App.

6. Data Retention & How to Delete Your Data

All of your SleepTonic data lives on your device. We retain no copy of it because we never receive it.

• Delete individual items in-app: you can delete saved mixes/presets, turn off reminders, and reset preferences from within the App.
• Delete everything: uninstalling SleepTonic permanently removes all locally-stored data (presets, settings, reminders) from your device. On Android you may also clear the app's data/storage via System Settings → Apps → SleepTonic → Storage → Clear data.
• Server-side data: we run no servers of our own and hold no copy of your content or settings.
• Analytics data: the anonymous usage statistics described in Section 1.3 are retained by Firebase Analytics for a limited period (at most 14 months) and cannot be traced back to you.

7. Children's Privacy

SleepTonic is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App includes an optional Kids Mode that plays gentle lullabies; it is intended to be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian and, like the rest of the App, collects no personal data. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps. We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Google Play Families Policy.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, or similar laws — including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. Because SleepTonic does not collect or store personal data about you, in most cases there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or erase. You can exercise full control directly on your device (see Section 6). For any request or question, email support@mucoapps.com. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

9. Data Security

Your data remains on your device and is protected by your device's operating-system security and any device passcode/biometric protection you have enabled. Because nothing is transmitted to us, there is no server-side database of your information that could be breached.

10. International Users

SleepTonic can be used worldwide. Your content and settings are processed only on your own device and are not transferred across borders by us. The anonymous analytics described in Section 1.3 may be processed by Google on servers in various countries, subject to the safeguards described in Google's privacy documentation.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the App or on this page. Your continued use of SleepTonic after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
